Totally agree. To leave Di Canio out just because he didn't like him was just plain bad management and that showed when Sir Trev came in and nearly turned it around.
Grant was woeful but didn't have Roeders talent at his disposal and I don't think Allardyce was a bad manager just a dislikeable one and West Ham was the wrong Club for him.

Again Macari was the wrong man for West Ham. Interesting how the worst managers are the ones that just don't get the best out of their players and don't know how to deal with them.
For instance Harry knew how to get the best out of Di Canio. Paolo was clearly off his trolley but what a player on his day. Same with John Lyall. To get the best out of McAvennie and Ward who were maverick to say the least and know how to handle them is what it's all about.

I never felt Zola was that bad. First season was decent and then he was left with one of the worst squads I’ve ever seen.

Macari brought in some fantastic players for us when we were in shit street.
Ludo, M Allen, Bishop, Morley , Quinn.
Foster gets a pass because of the Everton goal.
Roeder was the worst I suppose with the talent available to him.
Grant seemed clueless.
